Cantor Deborah Jacobson received her undergraduate degree in Theater/Voice and Literature from New York University. In 2002, she received her Masters of Sacred Music and Diploma of Hazzan from The Jewish Theological Seminary of America (JTS).   Her studies included a year at Machon Schechter in Jerusalem.  During her studies, Deborah received the H.L. Miller Fellowship as one who will make a significant contribution in the musical life of Jewish communities. 
public and religious schools as well as a performer in many plays in New York and Los Angeles, TV shows, Cabaret and concert performances.  While completing her studies at JTS, she served as the Cantor at West End Synagogue in Manhattan.  Upon graduating, she became the Cantor at Temple Beth El of Stamford, CT.   As of July 1st, 2005, Deborah became the first full-time Cantor at Temple Ahavat Shalom in Clearwater, Florida.

Deborah Jacobson, was featured on Woman's Day, on a segment about women in the clergy.  She has also been quoted numerous times in the Wall-Street Journal. 
Before entering the Jewish Theological Seminary, Deborah was a teacher in
Cantor Jacobson just released a brand new CD entitled "Bimah to Broadway, Act 1".  This exciting recording of Deborah live in concert features a colorful mix of new and old songs that will surely touch hearts and fill the soul. Some of the more poignant numbers are the duets with her husband Jordan.

Cantor Jacobson released her first CD entitled
"Shabbat Unplugged" in 2005.   This wonderful CD captures the beautiful essence of the Sabbath.  Deborah delivers an inspiring performance that truly expresses the  spiritual and divine nature of Shabbat.

This CD includes 16 songs that will surely touch listeners as they reflect on the rich melodies and compelling lyrics.  The songs range from meditative to upbeat - each one bringing its' own spirituality and passion.
